   JERUSALEM Feb 22, 2010 Israel has a national plan to repair some 150 Jewish and Zionist heritage sites. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently announced that two Jewish shrines in the occupied West Bank would be part of the plan.

   This move was heavily criticised by the Palestinians. They feel it would increase the religious tensions in the area, which might have dangerous consequences.

DAMASCUS Jan 30, 2010 A Hamas official said on Friday that Israel has assassinated a senior Hamas military commander - Mahmoud al-Mabhouh - in Dubai on Jan 20.

"I cannot reveal the circumstances. We are working with the authorities in the United Arab Emirates," said Izzat al-Rishq, a member of Hamas’s politburo.

Hamas says it killed Israeli civilians by mistake

GAZA Jan 29, 2010 The Islamist group Hamas rejected charges of war crimes made in a U.N. report. It said on Thursday that three Israeli civilians killed in rocket attacks by its members during Israel’s Gaza offensive last year were hit by mistake.

The report was written by a panel led by jurist Richard Goldstone, and accused Hamas of targeting civilians by firing hundreds of rockets on Israeli communities.
