VANCOUVER Feb 17, 2010 The suspected ringleader of two recent anti-Olympic protests in Vancouver has been arrested, police said on Tuesday.
Guillame Joseph-Marc Beaulieu, 27, led a group of about 100 black-masked anarchists who spray-painted vehicles and smashed storefront windows as they marched on Saturday, police said.
Beaulieu also led a group that blocked a street on Friday and forced organisers to re-route a relay transporting the Olympic flame to the opening ceremonies, police said. He was charged with causing mischief.

NARATHIWAT, Thailand Feb 15, 2010 Four people have died in two shooting incidents in Thailand’s separatist deep south in the past two days.
On Monday, a Muslim woman and her daughter were shot dead in a rubber plantation in Narathiwat province, police said. The mother had been called in to speak to security authorities and may have been killed to prevent her from giving information to them.
In a separate incident on Sunday, a Buddhist woman and her 14-year-old daughter were shot dead as they were riding a motorcycle home in Pattani province.

SYDNEY Feb 15, 2010 Five Australian Muslims were jailed on Monday for terms ranging from 23 to 28 years. They had been found with weapons and chemicals to make bombs.
The men had been arrested in Sydney in 2005 as part of Australia’s largest ever terror raids. They were found guilty in October 2009 of planning a terror attack in revenge for Australia’s sending troops to Iraq and Afghanistan.
