Venus eases through in Dubai, Wozniacki made to fight

    DUBAI Feb 17, 2010 Defending champion Venus Williams eased into the third round of the Dubai Championships on Tuesday with a 6-2 6-3 victory over Germany’s Sabine Lisicki.

    Lisicki struck several spectacular winners but wan’t consistent. Williams fought back with some strong serving and baseline play.

Roddick defuses Querrey to reach San Jose final

   SAN JOSE, California Feb 14, 2010 Top seed Andy Roddick survived a bombardment of 32 aces from compatriot Sam Querrey to win 2-6 7-6 7-6 at the San Jose Open on Saturday. He is into the final for the fourth time.

    In a hard-fought contest, world number seven Roddick never held a break point. However, he used his vast experience in two tiebreakers to pull off the win.
